The Vilas County Land and Water Conservation Committee is a standing committee of the Vilas County Board of Supervisors and is established pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 92, Wisconsin Statutes.
The committee helps to supervise and coordinate land and water conservation activities in the county relating to agriculture, soil conservation, nonpoint source water pollution control, farmland preservation, erosion control, lake and groundwater protection, and wildlife damage control.
The committee is composed of seven members from the Vilas County Board of Supervisors, one of which is also an USDA Farm Service Agency representative to the committee. The committee meets bimonthly. The time and date of the next scheduled meeting of the Land and Water Conservation Committee is posted on the official courthouse bulletin board and noticed in area newspapers.
